WHO WE ARE

Meet Shanen Mai - Founder

Owner and founder of Sitota.co, Shannon Mai a dynamic social entrepreneur and visionary leader who is dedicated to making a difference in the world.

Shannon’s passion for empowering young people led her to create Sitota.co, where she combines her business acumen with her commitment to social impact. Her innovative approach to education focuses on creating engaging, interactive experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of community.

With over 15 years of experience working in one of the world’s largest corporate building societies in various roles including mortgages, management, training and coaching, Shannon has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that she brings to her work and commitment of creating life changing experiences to empower young people to become the best versions of themselves and to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

With a background in management training and coaching, Shannon has extensive experience in helping individuals and organisations maximise their potential. She is a natural leader who inspires those around her to strive for excellence and to make a positive impact in the world. Along with her being an experienced TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher, having taught foreign language speakers in a variety of settings. Her expertise in this area has given her a unique perspective on the importance of cross-cultural communication and understanding, and she is committed to helping young people develop the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly globalised world.

Being a proud mother who understands first-hand the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s world. She brings this perspective to her work at Sitota.co, creating programs and resources that are both engaging and educational for young people as well as ensuring a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive.

With a leap of faith quitting her job after 15years to attend University as a mature student, to learn how to run a business in 2019, Shannon found herself teaching English in a rural school in Ethiopia in 2020 during the pandemic when her university course went to online learning due to lockdown. This did not stop her and led Shannon to discover her purpose, passion and belief that every child has the potential to achieve great things, and that with the right support and guidance, they can become leaders and change-makers in their own right.

That’s when Sitota.co was born.

Sitota.co is about creating a brighter future for the next generation through Equality Diversity and Inclusion and providing young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
